Orlando, Florida filmmaker Sam Barber has sued two of the Blair Witch Project‘s five filmmakers, claiming that he was cheated out of a “producer” or “executive producer” title in the film’s credits. He said that he was an owner of the film and that his company paid for much of its preproduction costs. Barber also claims that one of the film’s directors Dan Myrick and his girlfriend Kristal Jordan broke into his office and took documents and a film master of Blair,as well as other tapes and records. Barber filed his lawsuit in Orlando in June 1998, long before the film became a hit; he is seeking a percentage of the movie’s gross and claims that the figure could eventually be worth at least $10 million.
