At Sunday's hearing before the ABA's Commission on Multidisciplinary Practice, 17 lawyers representing bar groups from around the world offered formal testimony. Most either urged rejection of the issue or asked that the House delay its vote and study the matter. The ABA's House of Delegates will have to contend with a rankled attitude today when it is scheduled to debate - and perhaps vote - on whether to amend its rules to let lawyers and nonlawyers form partnerships and share fees.
