Theodore R. Voss, the new marketing director at Kelley Drye & Warren, has unusual, but fitting qualifications to sell the firm’s services: He is a lawyer and a former general counsel. In fact, he even hired Kelley Drye to handle general corporate matters.

His education and his most recent experience heading the law department of Starter Corp., a Connecticut-based maker of sports apparel, gives him credibility in a position that is sometimes marginalized within law firms.
