Two years ago, NJ litigators Jane Cantor and Bryan Garruto wanted to leave their litigation practice and move to the Superior Court bench. At the same time, lawyers at neigboring Lynch Martin, a defense firm headed by state Sen. John Lynch, were looking to cross over to the plaintiffs' side. So, while then-Senate Minority Leader Lynch began lobbying the governor to nominate Cantor and Garruto for judgeships, plans we're being laid for Lynch Martin to subsume Garruto & Cantor. Lynch says no ethical problem.
