Members of Young Israel of Bal Harbour had just finished reading fromthe Torah one Saturday last March when a woman walked in with a camera.Like a bolt from heaven, she took flash pictures of mostly elderlywomen in their prayer shawls and Sabbath best, and quickly left.

“We were just stunned. It happened so fast,” said Bernard Lack,president of the small temple in Surfside. “It was just two flashes,and she didn’t stay at all.”
