Antitrust attorney H. Stephen Harris Jr. has joined Jones Day’s partnership from Alston & Bird. Harris, who will practice at Jones Day’s Atlanta and Washington, D.C., offices in the firm’s antitrust & competition law practice, will help the firm’s global competition law practice coordinate with the firm’s Asia competition law practices. Harris formerly chaired the antitrust practice from Alston & Bird’s Atlanta headquarters. “[Harris] will make a great contribution to assisting our clients on antitrust matters throughout the U.S., as well as internationally,” said Phil Proger, a Washington lawyer who chairs Jones Day’s worldwide antitrust practice. Harris is the seventh partner to join Jones Day’s global antitrust practice during the last year. The other partners include Bruce McDonald, a former deputy assistant attorney general in the U.S. Department of Justice’s antitrust division, and Geoffrey Oliver, the former head of the anticompetitive practices division of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition. The other four partners were from Bell, Boyd & Lloyd of Chicago: William F. Dolan, Paula W. Render, Michael Sennett and Pamela L. Taylor.
