Paul J. Mitchell has left Chicago-based Mayer Brown to join Houston’s Andrews Kurth as a partner in the litigation section. Mitchell will concentrate on commercial litigation, with an emphasis on companies in the energy sector. In the area of litigation, he has extensive experience in state and federal courts, including commercial, oil and gas, and employment litigation. Mitchell has prosecuted and defended cases involving claims of fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, tortuous interference and numerous other matters. In addition to litigation, Mitchell practices in the area of corporate investigations and has represented corporations and audit committees. Mitchell was most recently a partner in the litigation section of Chicago’s Mayer Brown. Andrews Kurth has more than 400 lawyers in nine offices.
