A Wisconsin jury has awarded consumer products giant S.C. Johnson & Son $147 million to compensate for losses suffered in a trucking kickback scheme. The company sued its former transportation director and a dozen other people and companies, alleging a widespread scheme to bilk it out of millions of dollars by inflating rates and then pocketing the excess. No criminal charges have been filed in the case, but the jury found that several defendants had violated the state Organized Crime Control Act.
