Dewey & LeBoeuf has brought aboard reorganization and restructuring partner Martin Bienenstock and two other partners from Weil, Gotshal & Manges. Bienenstock will lead Dewey’s business solutions and governance group from its New York office. Joining him are Judy G.Z. Liu and Timothy Q. Karcher. Prior to moving to Dewey, Bienenstock was co-chair of Weil Gotshal’s business finance and restructuring department and was a member of its management committee. He served as lead counsel for the debtors in the Enron Corp. bankruptcy and represented General Motors in the Delphi Corp. bankruptcy case. He also has led the representation of G-1 Holdings, Inc., a mass tort asbestos case for one of the largest building materials companies. In addition to serving as a faculty member at Harvard Law School, Bienenstock authored a 1,000-page treatise, “Bankruptcy Reorganization,” published by Practicing Law Institute. In 2006, The National Law Journal named Bienenstock one of the 100 Most Influential Lawyers in America. He has a juris doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School.
