Corporate lawyers and compliance managers say their companies need better global corporate compliance programs, according to a new Eversheds survey. One out of five respondents assessed their company’s global compliance as efforts “fair to poor,” and 56% said the programs need improvement. Despite worries about worldwide compliance, only 3% cited Sarbanes-Oxley Act as one of their top two concerns. “America’s largest global companies have a monumental challenge to drive compliance across complex businesses in dozens of jurisdictions worldwide,” said Eversheds partner Paul Smith. The U.K.-based Eversheds surveyed 67 lawyers and compliance executives at a recent conference in New York city, including 46% from companies with revenue over $10 billion.
