SAN FRANCISCO — Tax specialist Gregory Broome moved to Wilson, Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati to support the firm’s clean technology and renewable energy finance project practice. Broome, formerly a partner at Thelen Reid Brown Raysman & Steiner in San Francisco for seven years, will be based in the Wilson Sonsini San Francisco office. He brings years of experience in tax implications of mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, hedge and private equity funds and executive compensation. Broome has also provided tax advice on acquisition and financing issues for public utilities and power generation companies, among others. “Greg will be a terrific asset to the firm’s wide-ranging tax practice,” said CEO John Roos. “He has particular expertise in the kind of complex taxation issues involved in structuring and financing energy-related projects, which is an area of growing importance for the firm and its clients,” he said. Broome also has experience with wind, solar and geothermal power projects. He has a law degree from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley.
