CHICAGO — The newly created Locke, Lord, Bissell & Liddell has nabbed three lawyers from the litigation defense firm Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker to join its New York office. The three attorneys, Franklin F. Bass, Deborah Elsasser and Kenneth J. Gormley, all have experience in the area of aviation litigation and worked in their former firm’s main New York office. Bass has concentrated on complex litigation, including aviation-related matters, product liability, and construction, among other things, and has experience working with federal transportation agencies, Locke Lord said in a statement. Elsasser has focused on tort and insurance coverage litigation in the areas of aviation and product liability among other things. Gormley has emphasized aviation, production liability and construction litigation in his practice and has represented airlines, commercial helicopter operators and other aviation-related companies. The firm was formed this month when Texas-based Locke Liddell & Sapp merged with Chicago-based Lord Bissell & Brook. The combined firm has offices in 10 U.S. cities and London.
