ALSTON & BIRD Catherine Martin, 36, has joined Alston & Bird as counsel in the firm’s D.C. health care practice. She was previously senior counsel in the office of the inspector general at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services within the industry guidance branch. Martin received her J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law.
BABIRAK, VANGELLOW & CARR Bob Lightburn, 55, has joined Babirak, Vangellow & Carr as counsel in the firm’s D.C. tax practice. He was previously a tax partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers. At Babirak, Vangellow & Carr, he specializes in state and local controversy matters, and estate and trusts. He earned his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
BLANK ROME Hardy Vieux, 35, has joined Blank Rome as an associate in the firm’s D.C. health law and white-collar groups. He was most recently a senior litigation associate at Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi. Vieux received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
BROWNSTEIN HYATT FARBER SCHRECK Ellen Chube, 26, has joined Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck as an associate in the firm’s D.C. government relations group. Prior to joining the firm, Chube was senior adviser to then-Rep. Harold Ford Jr. of Tennessee, chairman of the Democratic Leadership Council. She received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
DRINKER BIDDLE & REATH Naomi Travers, 41, has joined Drinker Biddle & Reath as counsel in the firm’s D.C. communications law group. She was previously executive vice president of media rights and entertainment for Bobcats Sports and Entertainment. While there, she oversaw media operations for the NBA Charlotte Bobcats and the WNBA Charlotte Sting. Travers earned her J.D. at the University of Maryland School of Law.

She earned her J.D. at Wake Forest University School of Law. Melissa Dorn, 25, joins the energy and derivatives markets group. She received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Kelly Falls, 26, goes to the trial group. She received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Jonathan Flynn, 29, is a member of the energy and derivatives markets practice. He earned his J.D. at Georgetown University Law Center. Christine Garrett, 25, joins the antitrust practice. She earned her J.D. at the University of Virginia School of Law. Ted Jou, 26, is in the intellectual property, media and technology group. He was previously a clerk at the firm. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. Hankil Kang, 32, is a member of the intellectual property, media and technology practice. He received his J.D. from Duke University School of Law. Rachael Lewis, 29, is a member of the antitrust group. She earned her J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law. Blaire Malkin, 27, joins the trial practice. She was previously a clerk at the firm. She received her J.D. from Harvard Law School. Erika Pont, 30, is a member of the trial practice. She received her J.D. from George Washington University Law School. Jennifer Ritter, 27, is in the trial practice. She received her J.D. from George Washington University Law School. Eric Shelton, 33, joins the intellectual property, media and technology group. He earned his J.D. at George Washington University Law School. Shawnna Yashar, 31, joins the intellectual property, media and technology group. She received her J.D. from George Washington University Law School.
SUTHERLAND ASBILL & BRENNAN Thomas Gick, 51, has been made firmwide executive partner at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan. He is a partner in the firm’s D.C. tax group. Gick focuses on developing and negotiating tax compliant life, annuity, and property and casualty products on behalf of insurers, other financial service providers, and corporate consumers.
