Due to incorrect information from the firm, a story Thursday about Orrick’s work for Nevada said the firm had done bond work for the state since 1999. In fact, the firm said it has done bond work for Nevada since the early 1980s. Due to reporting errors, a May 25 obituary on labor arbitrator Sam Kagel referred incorrectly to his arbitration work with the ILWU. He handled those arbitrations under contract with both the ILWU and the Pacific Maritime Association. The story also incorrectly said he’d lived with his wife, Jeanne Ames Kagel, for 30 years; though the two had a long relationship, they weren’t married until 2002. We regret the errors.
