SAN FRANCISCO Morgan, Lewis & Bockius has added Marc Baluda as of counsel on the ESOP team in the business and finance practice group. Baluda was previously with Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Nicholson Graham. He graduated from Hastings College of the Law in 1997. Jonathan Kitchen has joined Cox, Castle & Nicholson as a partner. Kitchen, who comes to the firm from Liner Yankelevitz Sunshine & Regenstreif, focuses his practice on commercial litigation. He has earned law degrees from Durham University and the University of Cambridge, both in England. EAST BAY Oakland’s Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean has added associate Gregory Jung to its litigation practice. Jung, who was previously with DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary, graduated from Boalt Hall School of Law in 1999. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Lizbeth Flores has joined Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps’ San Diego office as an associate in the Mexico practice. Flores was formerly with Flores, Garces and Associates in Tijuana, Mexico, and also served as in-house counsel for C3D Inc. in New York. She received her LL.M. from Boalt Hall School of Law in 1999 and her J.D. from the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in Mexico in 1997. Marks, Golia & Finch, a construction law firm in San Diego, has added three attorneys: of counsel Jon Gauthier and associates Shawn Miller and Lori Loiselle. Gauthier, who was previously with Merrill Schultz & Wolds, graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1981. Miller is a 2004 graduate of Notre Dame Law School, while Loiselle received her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law this year. Associates Mary McKelvey and Daniel Wu have joined Carroll, Burdick & McDonough’s Los Angeles office. McKelvey, who comes to the firm from Walsworth, Franklin, Bevins & McCall, focuses her practice on toxic tort, asbestos, employment, construction defect and environmental cases. She graduated from Southwestern University School of Law in 2002. Wu, who was formerly with Wood, Smith, Henning & Berman, focuses his practice on business, complex commercial, real estate, intellectual property and employment matters.
