UPDATE Proskauer Rose has added three attorneys from Jackson Lewis to its labor and employment law practice in New York. Gregory Rasin, former head of Jackson Lewis� national employment law and litigation practice, joins the firm as a partner. Elise Bloom, also a new partner with Proskauer Rose, led the Jackson Lewis� employment class action practice. Steven Hurd, previously a partner with Jackson Lewis� employment class action practice, comes aboard as senior counsel. New partners Lerner, David, Littenberg, Krumholz & Mentlik (Westfield, N.J.): Alfred J. Lechner Jr. joins the litigation practice as partner. Most recently vice president and chief counsel-litigation at Tyco International Ltd., Lechner served for more than 15 years as a U.S. district judge for the District of New Jersey. Prior to his federal appointment, he served for two years as a judge on a New Jersey superior court. Loeb & Loeb: Barry T. Mehlman joins the corporate department as partner in the firm’s New York office. He was previously of counsel to Pitney Hardin of Florham Park, N.J. New arrivals Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman: Two attorneys come on board-in San Francisco, as partner, Jay B. Gould (corporate and securities); and in Washington, as senior counsel, Joseph H. Lanier (public policy). Gould was previously a partner at White & Case. Lanier is former legal counsel to the office of U.S. Senate Majority Whip Mitch McConnell and former legislative director and legislative counsel for former U.S. Senator Jesse Helms. Stroock & Stroock & Lavan (New York): Two attorneys join the firm’s New York office as partners-Scott Welkis (finance) and Sarah Davidoff (investment management). Laterals Akerman Senterfitt (Orlando, Fla.): Jos� A. Fuentes joins the government affairs group as partner in the firm’s Washington office. Most recently a partner in the federal government relations practice group of Reed Smith, he is also a former attorney general of Puerto Rico. Duane Morris (Philadelphia): Robert Byer joins the trial practice group as partner in the firm’s Pittsburgh and Philadelphia offices.
