AMERICAN LAW INSTITUTE Brian Brooks, a partner at O’Melveny & Myers, has been elected to the American Law Institute, a nationally recognized organization dedicated to the improvement of the law. Membership is limited to 3,000 people and includes jurists, lawyers, and law professors from around the United States and some foreign countries. Brooks is head of O’Melveny’s financial services litigation and regulatory practice. BTI CONSULTING GROUP The BTI Consulting Group cited McGuireWoods on the Honor Roll in its 2005 edition of The Survey of Client Service Performance for Law Firms. BTI, a marketing research and management consulting firm, developed the survey to single out law firms that excel in client service. BTI interviewed 200 corporate counsel from Fortune 1,000 organizations and ranked law firms according to the 17 key activities that clients define as driving relationships with their outside law firms. Also, William MacLeod, head of the antitrust practice of Collier Shannon Scott, was recognized in the BTI survey as one of 114 attorneys nationwide who set the standard for superior client service and exemplary legal representation. COZEN O’CONNOR Cozen O’Connor recently named Barry Boss managing attorney for its D.C. office. Boss, a member of the firm’s white collar crime and complex criminal defense practice group, replaces Matthew Ash, who will remain of counsel to Cozen O’Connor. GARDNER CARTON & DOUGLAS Stephanie Wickouski, co-chair of Gardner Carton & Douglas’ corporate restructuring and financial institutions practice group, was elected managing partner of the D.C. office. She previously served as hiring partner. GLOBAL COMPETITION REVIEW Howrey Simon Arnold & White has been named the largest U.S. antitrust practice by Global Competition Review‘s GCR 100. The GCR 100 rates the world’s top competition firms based on size and qualitative factors such as attorney reputation, number of major cases handled, international coverage, client base, and overall reputation. HISPANIC NATIONAL BAR ASSOCIATION Jimmie Reyna, chair of the international trade and customs practice group at Williams Mullen, has been elected vice president for regions of the Hispanic National Bar Association.
