LITTLER ELEVATES FIVE IN SAN FRANCISCO OFFICE Littler Mendelson has promoted five attorneys to the rank of shareholder in its San Francisco office effective Feb. 1. Michelle Barrett, 33, who trains management clients in various areas of employment and labor law, earned her J.D. in 1998 from Georgetown University Law Center. Kurt Bockes, 42, whose work focuses on employment discrimination, wrongful termination and unfair competition, received his J.D. in 1993 from the University of Wisconsin Law School. Kristin Hutchins, 38, who advises clients on employment discrimination, wrongful termination and sexual harassment, received her J.D. in 1996 from the University of Virginia School of Law. Barbara Russell, 31, who counsels management clients on all types of labor law, earned her J.D. in 1998 from the University of Michigan Law School. Krista Stevenson, 34, also an employment lawyer, earned her J.D. in 1996 from the University of Southern California Law School. One attorney, Michael Brewer, was promoted in the firm’s Walnut Creek office. Brewer, 36, whose practice covers a wide range of employment and labor law litigation, earned his J.D. in 1995 from the University of Colorado. Two lawyers, Matthew Ruggles and Dylan Wiseman, were promoted in the firm’s Sacramento office. Firmwide, the 400-lawyer firm promoted 19 attorneys — four more than in 2003. There were no shareholder promotions in the firm’s San Francisco office in 2003. Littler has 28 offices, including locations in Fresno, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, Santa Maria and Stockton.
