New Associate Gina Mac Neill has joined the Law Offices of Jerry S. Goldman & Associates as an associate. Mac Neill, a recent graduate of Rutgers University School of Law, will be working in the firm’s Philadelphia office, concentrating in complex civil litigation and white-collar criminal defense. Elected and Appointed Cozen O’Connor member Vincent R. McGuinness has been elected president of the board of directors of SquashSmarts Inc. in Philadelphia, where he will serve a two-year term. Founded in 2001, SquashSmarts is a nonprofit youth program that combines squash-playing with academic tutoring and mentoring for low-income middle school students in the Philadelphia public school system. McGuinness is vice chairman of the subrogation and recovery department for the Philadelphia, Cherry Hill and West Conshohocken offices of the firm. Adoptions From The Heart, a licensed nonprofit adoption agency offering domestic and international adoption, has announced that Wolf Block Schorr & Solis-Cohen partner Daniel J. Clifford has joined its board of directors. A member of the firm’s family law practice group, Clifford focuses on international custody and handles matters involving domestic and international adoptions, divorce, equitable distribution of marital property, child custody, support, protection from abuse and civil contempt. Nominations The Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association is accepting nominations for officer and board of director appointments for 2004-05. If you wish to submit your name or that of a fellow trial lawyer, do so by Friday, March 26. Your nomination must be in writing and mailed to Patricia M. Patterson, executive director, PTLA, 121 S. Events Judge Clifford Scott Green of the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania will be the distinguished guest speaker at a naturalization ceremony to be held in the ceremonial courtroom of the U.S. District Court, 6th and Market Sts., on Thursday, March 18, at 10:30 a.m. Judge John R. Padova of the Eastern District will preside over the ceremony. Heather J. Holloway of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division executive committee will offer remarks on behalf of the bar association. A response to the court on behalf of the new residents will by given by Dineydi Herrera Rodriguez, formerly from the Dominican Republic. Approximately 100 new residents from 32 countries will become naturalized. Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads senior litigation partner David L. Grove was the planner for the presentation “Lights, Camera, Action: Technology in the Courtroom” at the spring meeting of the American College of Trial Lawyers, recently held in Phoenix. The program stressed the need to find creative ways to bring the client’s story to life for a jury or other fact-finder or decision-maker and identified the technological tools that are available to trial lawyers to do so. Grove is the chairman of the college’s science and technology in the courts committee and co-chairman of the firm’s intellectual property and computer and information technology practice groups.
