Biehle, Husted and Volmert work in the trial practice group in the Houston office. Roberts works in the tax practice in the Dallas office. David J. Cibrian has joined the firm’s San Antonio office as a partner. He works in the firm’s corporate and securities, financial services and international practices. . . . Jason Contreras and Lawrence Morgan have joined the Dallas office of Brown McCarroll as associates. Texas Speaker of the House Tom Craddick appointed Rep. Todd Smith as an ex officio member of the task force on indigent defense. Additionally, the Texas Municipal Police Association presented Smith with its legislative excellence award. ELECTIONS . . . Cynthia L. Bast, Debora E. Ramirez, Frances Leos-Martinez and Bryce D. Linsenmayer have been elected to the board of Texas Community Building with Attorney Resources. Bast, the chairwoman, is an affordable housing and corporate/securities partner in Locke Liddell & Sapp’s Austin office. Ramirez, the vice chairwoman, is a municipal bond finance, structured finance and secured finance associate with Vinson & Elkins’ Austin office. Leos-Martinez, the secretary, is the Austin regional program associate with the McAuley Institute.
