New Addition The Chartwell Law Offices has announced that William McKee has joined the workers’ compensation section of the firm. Speaker H. Ronald Klasko, managing partner of the immigration law firm of Klasko Rulon Stock & Seltzer, was a keynote speaker at the recent annual immigration law conference of the Florida Bar Association in Miami. Klasko spoke to more than 300 attorneys on “Quotas on Foreign Professional Workers.” Honored Ralph P. Bocchino of Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin has received an award from the Pennsylvania Bar Institute for his academic contribution as a continuing legal education faculty member and presenter. Bocchino, a shareholder in the firm’s Philadelphia office, chairs the firm’s amusements, sports and entertainment practice group. Melissa Weiler Gerber will be honored by the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Pennsylvania at the Take the Lead Awards on Monday, March 15, at Philadelphia’s Four Seasons Hotel. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a silent auction, followed by the awards ceremony. Gerber, executive director of Womens Way, is being honored for demonstrating sound leadership skills and efforts to better the community through hard work and commitment. Elected and Appointed Keith R. Dutill and Kevin R. Boyle have been elected to three-year terms on Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young’s board of directors. Dutill is the managing partner of the firm’s Malvern office. He is a member of the litigation department and represents businesses in complex commercial cases. Boyle is chairman of the firm’s business department and nonprofit practice group, which represents educational, religious, charitable, and other nonprofit institutions and organizations. Corey Field, an associate in the litigation department and member of the intellectual property group at Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, has been appointed to the Entertainment Law Initiative 2004 advisory committee by the Grammy Foundation in Los Angeles. The initiative is a nationwide scholarship program for law students sponsored by the Grammy Foundation wing of the Recording Academy, presenter of the Grammy Awards. Field concentrates his practice in copyright and entertainment law. On Feb. 19, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania appointed William J. Manfredi to the Supreme Court civil procedural rules committee for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2007. Manfredi is the supervising judge of the civil trial division of the Court of Common Pleas for the First Judicial District. Seminar The Pennsylvania Bar Institute will present the 10th annual Health Law Institute on Wednesday and Thursday, March 17-18, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. More than 70 faculty members of the Health Law Institute will provide practical tips and real-world advice for handling health law issues. A complete, comprehensive update on all that is new in health law will be offered through 55 workshops. Keynote session topics will include the pros and cons of the new Medicare prescription drug benefits and how the government protects the prescription drug pricing system using anti-fraud laws. Each day qualifies for 6 CLE credits and runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:35 p.m. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
