In a curt statement, the CJP said the hearing for former Superior Court Judge Patricia Gray, which had been set for Nov. 6 in San Francisco, would be rescheduled for a later, unspecified date.

However, CJP Chairman Michael Kahn indicated through his secretary Wednesday that further action might be forthcoming. Kahn, a partner at San Francisco’s Folger, Levin & Kahn, would only say that a second statement would be issued late Wednesday or today, leading to some speculation the case against Gray would be dropped.
