And not just any lawyer — a lawyer who’s also a friend of mine. Now that ticks me off.

I cover San Francisco’s 50 trial courts for The Recorder. On nearly a daily basis, I watch those summoned perform their civic duty. I’ve been dying to try out the jury box myself. For several years running, I’ve been summoned, but I’ve never been on a panel.
