Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman has added two new partners in Tokyo.
Anthony Raven and Simon Barrett were previously partners in the Tokyo offices of Hogan Lovells and Simmons & Simmons, respectively. They have both joined Pillsbury’s energy and infrastructure projects team.
Raven’s project development and finance experience includes advising Japanese and international clients in the liquefied natural gas, chemical and power sectors. He first joined the former Lovells in 2009 from the former Herbert Smith, where he was an associate for three years. Prior to that, he worked for Ashurst in both London and Tokyo.
Barrett, who regularly acts for Japanese companies on their overseas investments, works on LNG, power, water and transport projects, with a particular focus on engineering, procurement and construction contracts. He joined Simmons & Simmons as a partner in 2011 from Hogan Lovells, where he had been an associate.
Pillsbury’s Tokyo office now has 12 lawyers, including six partners. The firm has about 700 lawyers in 14 offices worldwide.*
