The two top lawyers in Foley & Lardner‘s Shanghai office have departed, leaving the firm with only two associates in China.

Office managing partner Catherine Sun, an intellectual property lawyer who launched the China practice for Milwaukee-based Foley & Lardner in 2007, has left to set up an IP consulting firm, China IP Ltd. According to the company’s website, which is currently under construction, it will advise foreign companies in China on their IP strategies, and advise Chinese companies on IP aspects of international expansion.
