King & Spalding plans to launch a Moscow office in late May with hires from White & Case and Hogan Lovells, The Am Law Daily has learned.

K&S confirmed claims by well-placed sources that White & Case oil and gas partner Jennifer Josefson is joining the firm in Russia alongside Hogan Lovells partners Sergey Komolov, Olga Kozyr and Alla Naglis. Josefson heads White & Case’s oil and gas practice throughout central and eastern Europe and the CIS. Komolov is deputy office manager for Hogan Lovells in Moscow; Kozyr and Naglis are partners in the firm’s real estate and technology, media and telecoms (TMT) practices. Hogan Lovells corporate lawyer Iliya Zotkin is also joining the firm as counsel. All four were previously with Hogan & Hartson in Moscow prior to the firm’s combination with U.K. firm Lovells, which took effect last May.
