Four partners and three associates from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe’s Menlo Park, Calif., office have split off to form plaintiffs patent litigation boutique Freitas, Tseng, Baik & Kaufman.
The firm opened for business in the Redwood Shores neighborhood of Redwood City, Calif., after Kai Tseng, Steven Baik and Craig Kaufman left Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe quietly in February. IP partner Robert Freitas joined them March 17. The business is still in startup mode and the group didn’t want to make a splash until the whole group had come over, Freitas said.
