The earthquake and tsunami in Japan delayed portions of the multidistrict litigation against Toyota Motor Corp. last week as lawyers appeared in court to move forward on critical discovery issues.
The MDL involves more than 200 sudden-acceleration lawsuits brought on behalf of consumers asserting economic damages and individuals who were injured or died in accidents they attribute to defects in Toyota vehicles.
