A federal appeals court has vacated the conviction of a former high-level executive with Royal Ahold N.V. and ordered that he be given a new trial.

Mark P. Kaiser was convicted in 2006 of making fraudulent misrepresentations about the financial condition of U.S. Foodservice, which was acquired by Royal Ahold, the Dutch supermarket giant, in 2000.
