When Senior Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Barbara Levenson was deciding on her career, she said she had to choose between the law or writing. "I decided if I became a lawyer, I would have a salary. If I stayed as a writer, I might not," she recalls. But in 2004, Levenson took senior status. "I said, 'This is the time to write,'" Levenson notes. Her book, "Fatal February," is the first in a planned series of novels featuring fictional Miami criminal defense attorney Mary Magruder Katz.
