The opinion reversed a lower court ruling invalidating patents that cover methods of adjusting the dosage of certain drugs used to treat autoimmune diseases, depending on a patient's particular metabolism. At least one patent attorney is speculating whether humans developed from a manufacturing process are now eligible subject matter for patenting.
