For only the third time in 81 years, a woman will lead the State Bar of California.

Holly Fujie, 52, of Los Angeles, was elected to the Bar’s presidency late Friday by a vote of the 23-member Board of Governors. A partner in the L.A. office of Buchalter Nemer, she will be sworn in by California Chief Justice Ronald George on Sept. 27 in Monterey, during the State Bar’s annual meeting.
