George Mitchell, the former U.S. senator who serves at DLA Piper's global chairman, will become global chairman emeritus. Frank Burch, one of the firm's joint-chief executives, will take the job as global chairman. Nigel Knowles and Lee Miller, who serve as joint-chief executives with Burch, will become co-global chief executives. Terry O'Malley will remain U.S. managing partner.
