A benchmark was achieved for women lawyers in Connecticut this year when the Hartford defense firm founded by R. Cornelius (Neal) Danaher Jr. in 1982 was reshuffled to have, for the first time, more women than men as name partners.

With longtime partner Joyce Lagnese and lateral hire Madonna Sacco as new name partners, the 26-lawyer firm is now called Danaher, Lagnese & Sacco. It was a notable tipping point, though not one that might have been expected at a defense firm.
