Former Linklaters managing partner Tony Angel has been appointed as executive managing director and head of credit ratings agency Standard & Poor's Europe, Middle East and Africa arm. Angel, who will report to the organization's president, will also chair the company's European governance council. He will take up the full-time post on June 30. The appointment ends months of speculation about what Angel would do following his departure from Linklaters at the end of April.

Former Linklaters managing partner Tony Angel has been appointed as executive managing director and head of credit ratings agency Standard & Poor’s (S&P) Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) arm.
Angel, who will report to Deven Sharma, the organization’s president, will also chair the company’s European governance council, with the European leadership team all accountable to him for their regional responsibilities.
