Judge Rakoff ruled on the applicability of 18 U.S.C. �706, which prohibits the use of the emblem of the Greek red cross on a white background to fraudulently induce the belief that the displayer is a member or agent of the American National Red Cross. Johnson & Johnson had claimed the American National Red Cross had violated the law when it licensed use of the symbol to Learning Curve International Inc., Magla Products, Water-Jel Technologies and First Aid Only Inc.
