The legal finger-pointing over who’s to blame for this month’s wildfires in Hawaii escalated this week as both the County of Maui and the region’s largest electricity provider took aim at one another.
On Aug. 24, Maui County filed a lawsuit against Hawaiian Electric Co., which it said failed to de-energize its power lines, causing the wildfires.
