Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIU) School of Law has entered into an agreement with Governors State University that will enable students to complete an undergraduate degree along with a J.D. degree in six years.
The agreement, which is with SIU Carbondale on behalf of the SIU School of Law, is meant to help diversify the pipeline to the legal community, according to the schools and an SIU spokesperson.
Under the “3 + 3″ partnership, a mapped curriculum will be provided for anthropology and sociology, English and political science majors allowing students to fulfill their senior year of undergraduate school at GSU, while enrolled in their first year of law school and living at SIU Carbondale, according to the schools’ announcement.
