A Washington, D.C., attorney who admitted to negligently misappropriating an elderly client’s funds while serving as a court-appointed conservator has received a reciprocal seven-month suspension in Maryland and Virginia.

Rachael Alexandra Schmid Moshman and District of Columbia disciplinary counsel agreed that the attorney be suspended for seven months, with 30 days of that suspension stayed in favor of one-year of probation with conditions to address accounting and office-management matters for violating D.C. R. Prof. Conduct 1.1(a) competent representation, 1.3(c) reasonable promptness, and 1.15(a) negligent misappropriation, according to the order filed in March.
