Law firm leaders in three recent mergers of midsize law firms cited the demand to build deeper and broader expertise, for attracting top talent and clients and competing against larger firms. Indeed, the demand among midsize law firms to scale up to compete will likely continue to spark more combinations this year, analysts say.
