The University of California, Berkeley, School of Law alumni notched the highest pass rate on the July 2021 California bar exam among first-time test-takers from Golden State schools, according to statistics released Monday.

Cal’s 95% success rate—229 of 240 of the school’s first-time applicants passed—bested figures posted by the state’s other traditional law school powerhouses, including Stanford University (94%), University of Southern California (94%) and the University of California, Los Angeles (93%). Last year, 96% of UC Berkeley graduates passed the summer exam on their first attempt.
