Mike Aldana, managing partner of Quarles & Brady, is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Brad Vynalek, president of the firm, is based in Phoenix, Arizona. Each firm leader’s home NBA team has found itself in the finals, at long last. And both teams are clients of the firm.

The Phoenix Suns took the first game of the 2021 Finals against the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday. For the Suns, it’s the first appearance in the NBA Finals since Charles Barkley and Kevin Johnson led the team against the Michael Jordan-led Chicago Bulls in 1993. For the Bucks, it’s their first appearance in the Finals since 1974.
