The Western District of Texas and U.S. District Judge Alan Albright are now officially on the map for patent infringement litigation.
A Waco jury returned a $2.175 billion verdict Tuesday morning against Intel Corp. after deliberating less than four hours. Jurors found both of VLSI Technology LLC’s patents infringed, rejected Intel’s invalidity case, and apparently adopted VLSI’s novel damages theory in full.
