The No. 2 lawyer at Rent-A-Center recently stepped into the top role on a temporary basis after the company’s executive vice president and general counsel resigned.

According to a recent filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Christopher Korst resigned his post effective June 5, at which time Dawn Wolverton, the Plano, Texas-based company’s vice president, assistant GC and secretary since 2011, stepped in on an interim basis.
