ADT Inc. has brought on a new chief legal officer, about a year after its retiring top attorney helped take the security services giant public.

In addition to chief legal officer, David Smail, a veteran in-house lawyer, has adopted the title of executive vice president at the Boca Raton, Florida-based company, effective immediately. He succeeds P. Gray Finney, who had held the top role there for nearly three years.
