MinterEllison’s former Mongolia managing partner has left the firm to join a Sydney-based family law boutique.

Elisabeth Ellis, who relocated to Sydney from Ulaanbaatar in late 2015, joins Dorter Family Lawyers & Mediators as a principal. Dorter was launched in 2014 by family law specialist Rebekah Dorter, whom Ellis has known for more than 35 years. The firm advises on property settlement, parenting issues and child custody, child support, divorce and family law, mediation and trust law.

Before joining the family law specialist firm, Ellis spent nearly two decades at MinterEllison advising on projects and corporate and commercial transactions across Asia and in Australia.  She launched the firm’s Ulaanbaatar office in 2012 and served as office managing partner until 2015; corporate partner Sebastian Rosholt succeeded Ellis as office head.
