A Philadelphia judge has remitted to $3.75 million the largest verdict handed up by a city jury last year -- $20 million to a woman injured in an industrial accident. Guillermina Leyva filed suit against the manufacturer of the machine her arm was crushed against when a co-worker accidentally ran into her with a forklift. The judge found the award "excessive and exorbitant," and wrote that Leyva "has the ability to continue employment" and that "no claim was asserted for future loss of earning capacity."
