The founder of the California Anti-SLAPP Project faced an uphill struggle representing animal rights activists in Alameda County Superior Court. Judge Steven Brick was hearing Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty USA's anti-SLAPP motion, which accuses Chiron Corp. of trying to muzzle its Web site. After allowing Goldowitz a moment Brick calmly proceeded to grill him and Chiron attorney Daniel Bookin for two hours.
