The Fourth Appellate District affirmed a judgment. The court held that a plaintiff’s claim for wrongful termination in violation of public policy was sufficiently tethered to the Penal Code’s theft provision where he alleged that he was terminated for opposing an employer activity later made illegal by separate statute, namely, participation in clients’ fraudulent “payment packing” practices.
