A small medical device company in Redwood City is taking on Boston Scientific Corp. for allegedly infringing its patents on electrical stimulation of the spinal cord to treat chronic pain.

Nevro Corp. and its Morrison & Foerster attorneys think they have a good head start in the litigation: two decisions from the Patent Trial and Appeal Board last year rejecting Boston Scientific’s attempt to kill a key patent.
